​The intention behind SOPRA SOTTO residencies is to bring together artists, creators, thinkers, and visionaries from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to collectively engage with the pressing issues of our time.

The residencies are living laboratories, where art is seen as a powerful tool for critical inquiry, reflection, and research, used to question existing realities and dominant systems. Creatives are the mirrors and culture shapers of society, capable of generating new cultural myths and narratives that inspire change through ripple effect. The residency project works toward reimagining alternative futures for both the community and the collective, harnessing creative expression as a force for connection, transformation, and communal healing.
Rooted in a slower pace in order to reconnect with oneself, others, and nature, the residencies cultivate collaboration, deep exchange, and cross-pollination between perspectives and practices.

Since 2023 I lived between Amsterdam and Italy, first in Tuscany and, since 2025, in Sardinia, where I am now based. I live on an old farm in the Gallura hills near the coast, which I am slowly renovating into a long-term home for the project. From late 2026 onwards, this place will host residencies rooted in communal living, nature-based practices, slower and cyclical rhythms, and creative exploration oriented toward positive cultural change.

Future plans for SOPRA SOTTO focus on developing longer-term residencies in Sardinia, culminating in local and community-based cultural and educational events for adults and children, grounded in the creative processes, shared learning, and lived experiences of the residency participants.
The last 10 years have taken me from Amsterdam to Los Angeles, Berlin, and Tuscany. I gained valuable knowledge by starting my career in the art market, working at several established galleries, after which I went on to work independently. I founded several ventures like Art Tours Berlin, which I ran for four years. Together with my co-founder Ariela, we managed a team of art guides leading public and private gallery tours. We also hosted a variety of art events, such as gallery dinners, panel talks and exhibitions. During that period I also launched AXS ART (2021 - 2024), an online curatorial curatorial platform and online art gallery, connecting emerging artists to young collectors. In recent years, I have shifted my focus from the art market to working with artists. I prefer a more conceptual and process-based approach to working in the realm of art. My attention is now directed towards dialogue and the exchange of ideas with and between artists directly, rather than solely on artistic output and materialized results. I spend my time working on various projects, from organizing exhibitions and art events to art travel, and in recent years mostly a focus on organizing the SOPRA SOTTO interdisciplinary art residencies. In addition to my focus on art residencies, I organize occasional retreats centered on creativity and inner work, believing that positive societal change begins from within. I am currently exploring ways to integrate residencies with wellness retreats, where artistic exploration intertwines effortlessly with personal development. Through my range of experiences, I have developed a deep understanding of how to approach art and creativity as potential tools for positive change.
